TROVE ESTATE

Trove Estate is true to it’s name – a valuable discovery of delightful things; a true treasure trove in the premium wine sense. Our emblem is that of the acorn; the seed of the magnificent oak tree. One of the oldest sayings in the world is ‘From little things, big things grow’ and this is epitomised by the tiny oak acorn that grows into the splendid and usually huge mature oak tree. It is a symbol of strength and perseverance; of tenacity and endurance; of majesty and beauty.

This is how we define our wines – from the brooding strength of our ‘The Laurels’ wines through to the structure, length and perseverance of our Forest Grand collection and finally to the boldness and sheer drinkability of our Secret Squirrel varietals. All of these wines deliver on their focused style and the pure enjoyment of drinking well.

These wines are primarily sourced from the fertile premium wine growing regions of Western Australia – with Margaret River the viticultural ‘jewel’ in our crown.

The temperate maritime climate with its long, cool, even ripening period is ideal for premium table wine production. The vineyards from which we produce our wines focus on the varieties that Margaret River specialises in – Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc Semillon blends.

The vast majority of Western Australia’s premium vineyards experience a significant. maritime influence. To the north, in and around Margaret River, their major influence is the Indian Ocean, which reliably delivers both winter rains and on-shore cooling afternoon sea breezes during the ripening months. To the south lies Western Australia’s coolest grape growing area Great Southern, where the major influence is that of the Southern Ocean which delivers slightly less rainfall than the north with marginally lower average temperatures. It is a much older wine grape growing region than Margaret River with its first commercial vine plantings harking back to 1930.
